Cosmetic Tattoo FAQs
What is a cosmetic tattoo?
A cosmetic tattoo is a form of semi-permanent micropigmentation. It is a technique in which pigment is placed beneath the surface of the skin by means of a single-use sterile needle or hand tool.
How long does a cosmetic tattoo last?
Depending on the area of the procedure and specific technique used a cosmetic tattoo can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years. Many factors go into the results of a cosmetic tattoo, including the individual’s skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare.
What will I look like after my appointment?
Normal. There is an idea that you leave your appointment looking crazy. There might be some redness, but in general, your brows will just look “done” and slightly shiny because of the aftercare cream.
Does it hurt?
In short, no. A local organic anesthetic is placed on the skin for our client’s utmost comfort. I personally take the comfort of my clients into immense consideration. Zensa numbing cream is my personal favorite numbing cream. It provides safe ingredients and quality 5% lidocaine. I typically numb for a full 20 minutes or more depending on the procedure area and service being performed. Cosmetic Tattooing is done with a very light touch, there should be little to no pain involved with a procedure.
How long is my appointment?
Microblading 2.5 hours
Microshading 3 hours
Lash Enhancement 2 hours
Lip Blush 3 hours
Faux Freckles 1 hour
Scar Camouflage 1 - 2 hours
Areola Reconstruction 2.5 hours
Is the follow-up appointment included?
No. Most cosmetic tattoos call for 2 appointments spaced enough time apart for the skin to properly heal and we can safely build up the pigment to the desired result. I keep the follow-up appointment a separate charge because 10% of people do not need a touch-up. I believe in doing business with integrity and will not charge anyone for something they do not need. I believe in fair pricing and transparency.
Why can’t I drink coffee or caffeine before my appointment?
Extremely important. Caffeine will cause your blood to thin. The pigment will not stay beneath the skin if you are bleeding too much. Caffeine also makes you more sensitive and causes the procedure to hurt. No caffeine or alcohol 24 hours before the appointment is truly the best for pigment retention.
Can I work out after my cosmetic tattoo?
Not really. It is best to keep your blood flow to a minimum and most importantly, no sweating. The goal is to keep the pigment inside the skin and working out can speed up your blood as well as cause sweating, even the tiniest bit.

Currently pregnant or breastfeeding; book after you are no longer pregnant or breastfeeding
Have had an epileptic seizure within 30 days
What is the long-term result of my cosmetic tattoo?
A cosmetic tattoo will fade naturally into a softer version of itself if taken care of properly. The color should not turn undertones and should fade off into a lighter color. The longer you wait in between annual touchups the better. Protecting your tattoo from sun exposure, exfoliants, chemicals, etc will keep your cosmetic tattoo safe for the best results. If you do not come back for an annual touchup, the cosmetic tattoo should eventually fade almost completely away. I make sure to not overwork the skin to ensure the results will stay their best for the next 10 years, not just until your next touchup. Cosmetic tattooing is the epitome of the slow game.
How soon can I get fillers or a facial treatment after my cosmetic tattoo?
Each cosmetic tattoo will call for different timing. Typically, you want to avoid anything invasive on the skin 30 days prior to and 30 days after your cosmetic tattoo.
What happens if I can’t make it to my appointment?
You may reschedule your appointment 48 hours ahead of your scheduled appointment time with the same deposit. You may reschedule an appointment one time before forfeiting the deposit. A no-show will automatically forfeit the non-refundable deposit. Please read the full policy agreement here.
